Originally from Oklahoma City, Hillary Richerson began her ballet training at the Dance Center of Oklahoma City Ballet. In addition to her studies at the Center, she also trained at ballet summer intensives including American Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, and more before becoming an apprentice with the Oklahoma City Ballet for their 2010-2011 season. She studied, on scholarship, at the University of Texas at Austin where she graduated with high honors with a BFA in Dance. At the university, Hillary performed in works by renowned artists such as Mark Morris and Merce Cunningham, as well as new works by Sidra Bell, Kate Watson-Wallace and Christian Von Howard. After moving to New York City, Hillary joined the Von Howard Project for their 2015-2016 season and joined Lucy Kerr Movement Arts for their production of While You Were Away at Leimay’s SOAK festival and the Brooklyn BEAT festival. She is excited to join the faculty at Block 16 Studios.
Paige Alewel has been dancing since she was only three years old and has yet to stop since. She has studied tap, jazz, ballet, pointe, lyrical, and hip-hop. Paige was instrumental as a student and choreographer for Studio A Dance Conservatory in Missouri. She took home many state and national titles as a performer and choreographer. She was titled Miss Star of Hope at the “Starpower” Dance Competition and at the national level. Paige has also taken home many titles with her high school dance team, which she was a key choreographer for their winning routines. Paige was hand selected to choreograph a major production for Oklahoma City University this fall, where she will also graduate December of 2016 with a Bachelor in Performing Arts. Paige loves to travel and hopes her career allows her to do so in the years to come. She is a major asset to the Block 16 Studio team!
Gina Marie Foxhoven has been studying dance for twenty-three years. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Business Minor and Dance Major, on scholarship. She was awarded the F. Ann Shanks Top Dancer Award at UCO. Gina’s Senior Capstone, “LIVE.D.EVIL,” was selected to compete with 150 dances at the American Collegiate Dance Festival, where it was chosen to perform in their Top-10 Final Gala as the closing number. Gina was then asked to join the American Dance Festival. Some of her accolades include receiving a full scholarship to the Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles, CA, and being named FOX News’ “Featured Dancer of the Year.” Recently, Gina choreographed, directed and performed in a music video for Good Morning America’s “Magic Mike XXL Competition” – which was broadcast on Live T.V., chosen as top-three in the Nation and highlighted in a special trailer by Warner Brother’s for the new-movie’s release. Currently, Gina enjoys traveling for choreography & dance jobs, producing stage shows and teaching master classes. Gina’s credits include New York-based Shen Wei Dance Arts, Casino Productions, College Dance Companies and internships in N.Y.C. and L.A. Additionally, Gina has created costumes for Box Talent Agency, and created choreography for and performed alongside members of The Pussycat Dolls, including Kaya Jones. Gina feels incredibly humbled by the opportunities she has received. The support from her family, friends, students, teachers and most importantly, her Faith, is the driving force in her career. She plans to passionately pursue her goals, be true to her roots and never stop learning from those around her.
Jeff began dancing at the age of 8 with La Dance Vivante’ in Shawnee. He has been teaching and choreographing at studios, master classes, and conventions all around the country. Jeff specializes in tap dance, but also teaches hip hop, break dance, musical theatre and jazz as well as piano, guitar and vocal instruction. Jeff is a staff member of Talent on Parade’s Dance Directive Tour. He has also throughout the years, choreographed and performed with local musical theater productions and has taken many accolades and awards from numerous dance competitions as a choreographer and as a youth performer. Jeff’s choreography has received numerous overall titles and “Best Choreography Awards” from touring competition companies, at the regional and national level. He received the American Dance Awards’ “Choreographer of the Year Award”, received a personal accolade from a renowned choreographer for his tap rendition of West Side Story. Jeff’s choreographed tap, musical theatre, and hip hop routines, and has received national championship titles within’ the past 2 years. As a junior, he competed in numerous dance competitions and obtained titles to include: Junior Mister Dance overall winner in state, regionals and nationals; in addition to solos, he has also been a part of many overall winning groups in the state and national levels. He has also danced, sang and acted in many High School, College and Local Theater productions over the years. Jeff is also an original/cofounding member of the Oklahoma City progressive rock band “Warren Peace”, which he lead sings and plays piano/keyboards and guitar. Jeff is also a 19 year veteran of the United States Air Force, which he is still an active reservist for the 507th Air Refueling Wing. Jeff has a bachelor’s degree in Management and a Masters in Human Relations from University of Oklahoma. Jeff has a strong vision and is highly motivated about the students’ future of Block 16 Studios.
Hannah has been dancing all styles since she was 3 years old. She is a 6x national champion and a 13x choreography award winner at the regional and national level. She’s recently received an elite tap scholarship from So You Think You Can Dance’s Anthony Morigerato. Hannah has performed on the Avalon Stage in L.A. for the major dancing event “Kidz Carnival”, along with performing at the Clay Cooper Theater in Branson, Missouri for the “Kidz Roc” show. Hannah has also traveled the country assisting for Talent On Parade’s Dance Directive. She’s received 2 scholarships for AMDA College’s High School dance program, a scholarship for classes at The Edge PAC in L.A., a scholarship for Dancerpalooza in L.A., and many more. Along with all of the scholarships she has recieved and stages she’s performed on, she has also danced at an OKC Globetrotters game, performed with Encore’s Elite Team, and Talent On Parade’s Top Starz. Hannah’s dream is to become a professional working dancer and choreographer either out in L.A. or New York. Block 16 is happy to have a young teacher and choreographer on our team!
